Hong Kong - June 2006

We left LAX for San Francisco to catch a flight to Hong Kong. After a LONG 14 hour flight we finally arrived!! It was raining lightly as we caught a cab to our hotel.
Our hotel on Hong Kong Island. The J.W Marriott, Central.
Kathy's relaxing in our room, overlooking Hong Kong harbor. it's warm and cloudy with occasional rain.
Kowloon is across the harbor.
We took a walk. See the little walkway above the street between the buildings at the bottom of this picture? Many buildings are connected like this. No need to worry about traffic when walking in these.
A view while walking in one of the connecting tunnels/bridges.
Another. This one towards the mountains.
On Sundays, women from the Philippines
sit in groups over much of the Central district to relax from a week of hard work. We saw hundreds of women. They come over to work as nanny's and maids and send back money to their families. Many were having church together!
The world famous Star Ferry terminal is a 30 minute walk from our hotel.
AND, we found a fabulous market selling great fresh baked breads, fresh fruit...
and cheese, cold cuts, sausage, meats all sorts of freshly prepared foods. What a treat!

These are great photos. This is a great way to let folks know what you have been up to. You only have to post once and others can visit your site. It's also great to have an explanation of your photos.
